I tried, I really did, but the old PVR couldn’t be fixed. So I priced the options for a new HD version.. $700
It was then I started thinking that this might be a good time to get Foxtel installed with their new IQ2 box. So I got on the phone and arranged for it to be installed this Tuesday !! How could we possibly be expected to live without pausing and rewinding the TV ?
Today, we again went out to Homebush Bay to do some cycling. This time, the Motley2 came with us. Motley1 rode the 17km’s around Olympic Park with us while the other Motley sat under a tree and read a book.
Little things all add to the rollercoaster of life.
It all started with Mrs Chill wanting the taps changed on the kitchen sink. The first set she bought just didn’t fit. The second set fitted, but I couldn’t remove the old tap. While trying to unscrew it, I managed
to crack the water pipe. I didn’t even notice until Motley1 noticed the wet cupboard. So a plumber was called, and he quoted us $600 for the repair !!
Now comes the good news. Motley1 went to Bunnings, bought all the needed parts for just $100 and finished the job in just an hour. How good is this man !!
This morning I wake up to be told that the TV isn’t working. It appears that the HDD Set top box has decided to call it quits. Oh well, it’s a good excuse to switch to HD
Wednesday is here, and I’m struggling to get through the first week back at work. The days seem to be so long, and the nights so short.
The grass is still growing quickly, although there are still some patches that may need more seeds.
After three weeks off work, the alarm clock was certainly not something I wanted to hear this morning!
The day seemed to last forever, but at least I got a few things done.
Wow….. I can’t believe it’s 2009 !
For NYE ’09, Mrs Chill and I went to a function at Darling harbour. The view was excellent, as was the food & drink, but the place didn’t have enough seating, so by 11pm our feet were sore from standing all night. At that point, we decided to beat the rush, and caught the monorail back to Town Hall, then a train home. We celebrated midnight on a train somewhere around Strathfield. lol. The Motley2 picked us up at the station, then we went home and watched the midnight fireworks on the TV.
It’s now been 8 days since we planted new lawn seeds, and the growth is quite amazing. Who ever said watching grass grow was boring?
Well, the Motley 2 have been here since the last week of November. No complaints though, as they have helped with some of the jobs that have been put off since the start of the year.
What have they done I hear you ask ?
Not a bad barter agreement for 5 weeks of rent free accomodation !
Finally, we’re able to watch our big TV again.
After being quoted $750 to get it fixed, I ended up fixing it for just $145 !!! Yes, it took me 5 months to get round to doing it, but the saving made it all worth while
